United States Poverty Project

Our mission is to provide help and support to every child in need. We believe American children should not be without adequate food, clothes, shelter and education. We will push our child relief efforts throughout Hampton Roads and beyond, using our collective voices and influence to implement city by city, state by state programs to alieve the suffering  and miseducation of American children.

We believe children are a bright light and the future of our nation.  An educated, optimistic and healthy child is something that benefits both the family and the community at large.

We ensure children enrolled in our programs have clean shoes and clothes. Sure, we prefer new clothes, but donating gently used items is also great. Shoes, coats, hats, gloves, etc., are all welcome. Mail to any of our locations and our volunteers will immediately get them to a child in need. And please don't forget school supplies, computers, toys and games.

Every child's case starts with a comprehensive checklist of their need base. We take the time to evaluate the unique challenges that may be lurking, so that your donations to our program(s) is properly managed and distributed.

We provide hot meals for children in school and at home. When parents call us, we make sure they get a hand up and not a crutch.

Poverty Project

Who are we? We're ordinary people from all walks of life who put children first. We've crossed racial, religious and political barriers in order to make this thing work. So we're out in the community talking to parents, teachers and other organizations to guarantee that American children have a future. While a lot of big time organizations focus on world poverty, we believe charity starts at home and inside our own borders- first. There is no middle man or long drawn out process, we locate children in need and help them. Then we follow up with phone calls, visits, and a social worker. We push academics and healthy living.

Our Mission:

We have a National Network in Place.

CLOTHES

Our team of dedicated volunteers will make sure United States Poverty Project is reaching out to as many communities as it can so kids everywhere have access to our free humanitarian services. We're fortunate to have some of the best people dedicating their time, energy, and expertise to our cause.
Anyone can fall on hard times. Sometimes parents make bad choices and their children suffer. We're not here to judge, just help. We offer Utilities assistance to families that qualify and emergency stipend to those who meet our strict conditions. In these particular cases helping the parent helps the child. Please give us your support today.

Because Child Poverty is a National Problem, it requires a Nationally Organized Solution. We have chapters in Virginia, Northern Virginia, Kansas, Florida, and Washington, D.C., but we NEED YOU to represent us in YOUR CITY.  Are YOU up to the challenge?
